Joining Tony Casteneda, host of the 8 O’Clock Buzz, on Thursday, May 23, 2013, was Pauline Lipman. Lipman is a professor of Educational Policy Studies and Director of the Collaborative For Equality And Justice In Education at the University of Illinois-Chicago.


Also joining the 8 O’Clock Buzz, activist and photojournalist, Jenna Pope.


Yesterday the Chicago Board of Education voted to close 50 public schools in Chicago. That is the most schools ever closed in any city in the United States at one time. “This is going to have a profound effect on African American Children in particular and Some Latino Children on the south and west sides in Chicago.“ said Pauline Lipman in the interview with the Buzz this morning.
