<p>On Friday May 24th, host Esty Dinur interviewed <a href="http://explore.georgetown.edu/people/sjm57/" target="_blank">Steven Mufson</a> about his new book &#8220;Keystone XL: Down the Line&#8221;. Later she spoke with <a href="http://www.wesleyan.edu/coe/thinktank/fellows%202012-13.html" target="_blank">Mike Dorsey</a> about the renewable energy frontier and climate change. During the first half of the show, Esty Dinur discussed Mufson&#8217;s new book &#8220;Keystone XL: Down the Line&#8221;, which is about the controversial subject of the Keystone XL pipeline and pipeline politics in the United States. For the second half of the show, Esty Dinur talked with Dorsey about the importance of fossil fuel alternatives as well as how crucial renewable fuels will be in the 21st century.</p>

Gindin has been an economist for over 20 years as well as a researcher for the Canadian Auto Workers. He currently teaches at York University in Toronto and he is also a frequent contributor to the <a href="http://socialistregister.com/index.php/srv/article/view/18807#.UZ5ocZwixkY" target="_blank">Socialist Register</a>. Gindin is also the co-author, with Leo Panitch, of the recently released &#8220;<a href="http://www.versobooks.com/books/1527-the-making-of-global-capitalism" target="_blank">The Making of Global Capitalism: The Political Economy of American Empire</a>&#8220;.</p>

<p>Yesterday the Chicago Board of Education voted to close 50 public schools in Chicago. That is the most schools ever closed in any city in the United States at one time. “This is going to have a profound effect on African American Children in particular and Some Latino Children on the south and west sides in Chicago.“ said Pauline Lipman in the interview with the Buzz this morning.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><a href="http://www.wortfm.org/?attachment_id=14943" rel="attachment wp-att-14943"><img class="size-full wp-image-14943" alt="blogs.lawyers.com " src="http://www.wortfm.org/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Field-sobriety-test-300.jpg" width="199" height="199" /></a>The <a href="http://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/fourth_amendment" target="_blank">fourth amendment</a> to the United States Constitution is supposed to protect citizens against unreasonable searches and seizures by government agents. But who decides what searches are unreasonable? That question is debated in the courts.</p>
<p>In April, a <a href="http://www.scotusblog.com/case-files/cases/missouri-v-mcneely/" target="_blank">new US Supreme Court ruling</a> determined that it may not always be allowable for police offers to order blood tests from non-consenting drunk driving suspects without a warrant. In the case <a href="http://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/12pdf/11-1425_cb8e.pdf">MISSOURI v. MCNEELY, </a>the Justices emphasized that each case must be decided individually on its merits. The result of this case may be that police departments err on the side of obtaining warrants or risk losing their case in court.</p>
