Felicia Kornbluh, associate professor at the University of Vermont and co-author of the book “Ensuring Poverty: Welfare Reform After Twenty Years”, discusses the issues surrounding the poor, twenty years after the passage of the bill “Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)” by the republican-led congress and signed by President Bill Clinton. In retrospect (and maybe intended at the time), this bill has guaranteed poverty, and supported sexism and racism.
