If you look hard enough, you can find a slew of local artists and other creative individuals who are regularly putting their talents toward community enrichment in the Madison area. But to make them easier to find, we at the Monday Buzz feature a monthly segment in partnership with The Bubbler at Madison Public Library. This month, Brian Standing spoke with visual artist Jeremy Wineberg, whose installation, Gravity Shifts, is up at the 3rd floor exhibition space at Central Library through the end of August. In the words of the artist:
“The most basic of forces in our universe, gravity is so pervasive that it is often taken for granted. It keeps us on the Earth, moves the tides in and out, attracts one mass to another, and draws our attention to things that seem to defy it. As gravity binds us all together and tethers our planet to the rest of the universe, it entangles each of us, and our stories, with each other. This project is an attempt to reflect part of that entanglement.”
