There’s no such thing as too much Bach.
Bach Around The Clock, a 12-hour celebration of Johann Sebastian Bach’s music, is being held this year on Saturday, March 18 from noon to midnight at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 1833 Regent Street. The event is free and open to the public.
Traditionally held on the Saturday closest to Bach’s birthday, Bach Around The Clock is a way for every musician in Madison to have the opportunity to perform their favorite pieces by Bach. From the youngest student to the most seasoned professional, Bach Around the Clock offers a venue for their passion.
This year’s event will be recorded, and a live audio / video feed will be available through WORT’s website via http://www.wortfm.org. Birthday cake will be served at midnight.
The event has been selected as one of the partners participating in the official “Early Music Month” celebration organized by Early Music America. For more information on the Madison event, including a full list of scheduled performers, visit https://bacharoundtheclock.wordpress.com/ And don’t forget, you can listen to classical music six mornings a week live on WORT or on our archives, including early, medieval and Renaissance music on Music Antiqua airing Sunday mornings from 8-11 am.
