MADISON (WORT) — Late last week, the Joint Finance Committee passed Motion 999. Among other things, the last-minute budget provision gutted Wisconsin’s open records law.
Governor Scott Walker’s office said over the weekend they were ditching the changes and are “steadfastly committed to open and accountable government.” Instead, the governor’s office says it will take up possible changes to open records laws through a Legislative Council Committee.
