Boombox the Wasteland, in the words of founder Wendy Schneider, is “a big neighborhood party”. It’s purpose is to repurpose and reclaim inactive public space with music, art, activities & boomboxes tuned in to a synchronized radio broadcast (provided by WORT). A vendor-less event, it allows people to gather and re-define a “wasteland”. Schneider joined host Tony Casteneda on the 8 O’Clock Buzz to discuss the upcoming Boombox the Wasteland event coming up on September 14th.
During this event, WORT will be live streaming the music played. The space will be Union Corners, on the intersection of Milwaukee St., E. Washington, and North St. For more information, join the Facebook page for the event.
