Chris Zastrow started Wholesome Harvest CSA with his wife Lisa in 2002 near Ft. Atkinson, Wisc. Today, they provide certified organic produce for over 1,000 CSA members each week and raise organic broiler and layer hens, Red Wattle pigs, and heritage turkeys.
Chris grew up on a farm and all his immediate family members were in the dairy business. Farming is in his blood, he says, as is entrepreneurship. He believes in growing healthy, clean, nutrient dense food for his community.
He talks about his farm operation, how he got started, and how workplace CSA fits in with wellness goals at local companies. You’ll also hear Emily Moenck at Aprilaire/Research Products discuss partnering with Wholesome Harvest to bolster the nutrition component of their Health Matters wellness initiative.
