On Wednesday, July 10th, Kelly Anderson joined Jan Miyasaki on the Buzz to talk about the 40th Anniversary fundraiser of the Dane County Rape Crisis Center. At 40 years old, this center was the first of it’s kind in the state of Wisconsin and one of the first in the country. The Center has a phone line open 24-hours a day at (608) 251 – 7273 (RAPE), which is staffed by free counseling and advocates willing to meet victims at police stations or hospitals.
In addition to their hotline, they offer individual counseling, support groups, education and outreach.
Their upcoming fundraiser will be the July 27th Madison Mallards game at 6:05pm. They are the designated charity for the game, and you can buy tickets through their organization to support their cause. In addition, they have a number of other events throughout the year which you can attend, or you can donate here.
