Free Speech Radio News, an independent daily global newscast, could cease broadcasting next week. The radio program has been on the air for 13 years and currently airs on more than 100 radio stations across the US. The major funder of the program is the Pacifica Foundation, which owns and operates 5 radio stations in some of the biggest media markets in the US (New York, Houston, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and the California Bay Area). Pacifica has racked up a substantial deficit and has fallen behind on their payments to Free Speech Radio News, threatening its viability.
Note: This station, WORT FM, is an Affiliate member of the Pacifica Radio Network and currently airs Free Speech Radio News.
