Today in 1987: The Iranian Kurdish town of Sardasht is attacked by Iraqi aircraft with chemical weapons during the Iran-Iraq War.

Saddam Hussein had started the war expecting an easy victory against the new Shiite Islamic republic, even though Iran had three times the population.

Sunday is the LeRoy Butler Anti-Bullying Event. The former Green Bay Packer LeRoy Butler will speak about his experiences with bullying. Seating for the speech is limited with priority given to local church youth groups. If you wish to reserve seats for a youth group please Rev. Miranda Hassett at revmiranda@stdunstans.com . Seats not reserved in advance for youth groups will be open to anyone. There will be room for EVERYONE at the Cookout with LeRoy beginning at 1:30 pm. There will be food, a silent auction, raffle, merchandise, autographs, and the opportunity to visit with LeRoy. Dean Clinic will kick off “The Buddy Project”, their new anti-bullying campaign. This event is free and open to the public. A suggested donation for food will help cover our costs. There will be a charge for autographs.
