The “Be the Light” candlelight march to oppose bigotry, hatred and xenophobia is scheduled for Friday, January 20th, from 7 to 9 p.m. Walk silently to demonstrate support for friends and neighbors subject to degrading treatment. Bring flashlights or fake candles; meet at the intersection of State and Lake Streets. The walk will conclude at the top of State Street with a brief program. The Goodman Community Center Older Adult program offers a regular calendar of activities and resources for adults age 60 and over. See old friends and make new ones while enjoying gentle exercise, delicious meals, games and other programs. No reservations or registrations are required for meals and programs. Low cost spayings and neuterings for dogs and cats are available through the Dane County Humane Society. Various times and prices are available and they include an FVRCP vaccine. Caretakers of feral cats can be helped as well. Call 608-838-0413, extension 103 for details.
The Insurgent Radio Kiosk is a four minute pre-recorded segment featuring a commentary and a calendar of daily events. Events must be low cost or non-profit and of interest to people in and around the WORT listening area and where other media might not highlight.
