Get your children’s creative juices flowing today with projects at the free Art Cart from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Willy Street Park, 1002 Williamson Street. Sponsored by the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and Madison School and Community Recreation, The Art Cart provides creative, outdoor art-making experiences to children aged 3 and up and their families. Support awareness of environmental issues at a benefit concert for Madison Action for Mining Alternatives tonight at 8 p.m. at the Crystal Corner, 1302 Williamson Street. Live music from Thistle & Thorns, featuring Thistle Pettersen on voice and guitar, Phil Tietz on violin and keys and Ken Keeley on upright bass. W-O-R-T has three volunteer receptionist openings. The open slots include alternate Mondays from 2 to 4 p.m., every Tuesday from noon to 4 p.m and every Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. We’re also recruiting fill-in receptionists for weekday hours between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. A welcoming spirit, plus good phone and message taking skills are essential.
