Tonight, WORT’s Perpetual Notion Machine features an interview with Abigail Cantor, a national award-winning water expert who provided consultation to the city of Madison to embark on a decade-long project to replace all of the lead water supply pipes in the city. As it turned out, this became the nation’s first lead pipe replacement program, and Madison became a national model of getting lead out of drinking water. In her discussion with PNM’s Lincoln Tice, Abigail describes the process that included a thorough testing of water at various sites, and why anti-corrosive chemicals adding to the water supply would not work.
Abigail is founder of and investigator with Process Research Solutions. And she chairs the Research Committee of the American Water Works Association – Wisconsin Chapter.
