As part of the Children’s Theater of Madison “Summer Stage” program, which involves over 400 kids, there was a one-week camp for 5th-8th graders called “Big Broadcast Radio Hour” from July 20-24, culminating in a performance the afternoon of Friday, July 24th. The performance was around 1/2 hour in length and took place in the afternoon at the Overture Center. A WORT volunteer engineer recorded the performance, which is now an important part of this Access Hour program hosted by CTM.
About Access Hour
WORT turns its airwaves over to members of the community. The show opens up radio production to people that have typically not been on the air before. The show is completely different from one week to the next. Guests have included community groups, musicians, aspiring DJs, story-tellers, call-in discussions, radio plays, live bands, fans of niche music, and lots of other topics.
