Today in 1948: In Washington, D.C. President Harry Truman signs the Selective Service Act, creating a system for registering all men ages 18-25, and drafting them into the armed forces as the nation’s military needs required.

Tomorrow is Madison-area Urban Ministry’s Re-Entry Service Fair with the theme “Residence.”

Tomorrow night there will be free Buddhist Chanting, wishing for the happiness and spiritual growth of everyone. This is the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month from 7 to 8:30pm.
