Kids from Wingra School visited the WORT studios and offices some months back, and they had a great time learning about radio and broadcasting. Now, these young folk have been researching and working up some public service announcements, using the tools they learned during their station visit. They’ve signed up to share some public service announcements on the Access Hour. These PSAs are written and read by students from Wingra School, ages 5-14. They’re about issues the children are concerned about, and they have ideas for solutions! (This Monday is also the second week of the WORT Spring Pledge Drive.
About Access Hour
WORT turns its airwaves over to members of the community. The show opens up radio production to people that have typically not been on the air before. The show is completely different from one week to the next. Guests have included community groups, musicians, aspiring DJs, story-tellers, call-in discussions, radio plays, live bands, fans of niche music, and lots of other topics.
