paulie heenan On April 11th, 2013, Amelia Royko Maurer joined Tony Castaneda over the phone to talk about the tragic death of Madison musician Paul Heenan. Heenan was shot to death by a police officer in early November of last year. The circumstances of his death have left many friends and neighbors asking questions about the police’s policies.

Four Star Video Heaven On the 8 O’Clock Buzz this morning, host Jan Levine Thal (subbing for Jan Miyasaki), was joined by Lisa Brennan of Four Star Video Heaven. Yes, it’s time once again! Lisa Brennan will be opening the doors to Four Star Video Heaven to filmmakers and WORT radio hosts. Every year, on the Friday of the Wisconsin Film Festival (this Friday), WORT goes on the road to Video Heaven to interview filmmakers whose films are in the festival. Lavinia Goodell was the first woman admitted to the Wisconsin State Bar in 1897. Listen to the interview below to find out more about the play.

Schneider works for Briarpatch as the Clinical and Program Coordinator.   She joins the Buzz to talk about Briarpatch. Briarpatch is a youth development and homeless prevention nonprofit.     tidbit: Aaron Perry and Jeanne Schneider go way back. In 2001, Aaron Perry worked at Briarpatch along side Jeanne Schneider.
