The cover of Bellamy's new book Swear.On Wednesday May 22nd, host Karma Chavez interviewed Hakim Bellamy, who is the Poet Laureate of Albuquerque, NM, about his new book, Swear. They discussed issues of race, capitalism, and arts in the U.S. During the program, Bellamy shared some of his experiences and how he got into poetry. In addition, he read some poems from his new book, Swear. Bellamy says that since becoming Albuquerque’s Poet Laureate his life has become very busy, but that he loves it and describes it as the “awesome-est job ever”.
