Chana Wilson’s, Riding Fury Home: A Memoir, is book about the challenging relationship Chana had with her mother who was severely mentally ill. At age seven her mother put a gun to her head and pulled the trigger. The gun jammed and her mother lived, however her mother was sent away to a mental hospital. Many years later, Chana, a care taken of her heavily medicated depressed mother, finds out the source of much of her mothers deep sadness. Her mother had had an affair with another married woman. Her daughter also found out how 1950’s doctors tried to cure her of her attraction to women with intense psychiatric treatment.
