This week your host Sabi Atteyih reports on the suspension of Egyptian satirist Bassem Youssef‘s TV show. Youssef, who is also a cardiac surgeon, presents in the vein of comedian and show host Jon Stewart. Viewers were outraged when he mocked a pro-military group. Other Arab-American news includes a Dearborn, Michigan ceremony honoring entrepreneurs, Egypt’s closing of Gaza border tunnels, the United States walking on thin ice in the Middle East, and the plight of Middle Eastern domestic workers. News bits feature the Michigan Arab Orchestra, a mosque shoe thief caught on camera, and a controversial Lebanese film “Out Loud”. Thievery Corporation from “Arabic Chillout”.
