The Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, which just celebrated it’s third birthday, is a fairly new building on the UW-Madison campus. On Wednesday September 18th, host Tim Hansel spoke with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation’s Laura Heisler to tell us more about the programs at WID and the upcoming Wisconsin Science Festival.
Specifically, Hansel and Heisler discussed the ongoing and varied program of events that are featured at the Wisconsin Institutes of Discovery, from programs to field-trips, for Pre-K to adults – all with the goal of engaging the community in science. As the director of these events, Heisler was also able to preview the upcoming Wisconsin Science Festival. This state-wide celebration is based out of the WID, but events will be taking place all over the state. The vast majority of these are free and many even include food! The Wisconsin Science Festival will take place next weekend from September 26th to the 29th.
