Buried deep in Governor Walker’s thousand-page 2015 Executive Budget lurk provisions that would profoundly alter how Wisconsin delivers services to the elderly and disabled. Senior Care, and the Include, Respect, I Self-direct, or IRIS, medicaid and medicare programs would be restructured or eliminated, and the budget also calls for privatization of the county-run Aging and Disability Resource Centers, or ADRCs, across the state. Iris Christenson is a disability legal advocate who works with clients to secure needed services. The Buzz also speaks with Dane County Aging and Disability Resource Center Manager Jennifer Fischer and Adult Community Services Manager Fran Gentner.
