(WORT) — Like all media over the last couple of decades, radio is being transformed by ongoing and sometimes rapid changes in the digital landscape. New technical formats, two decades of station ownership consolidation, the rise of smartphones, and the current podcasting boom are all affecting the future of the medium, whether broadcast over the air or streamed online.
John Anderson is an assistant professor of television and radio at Brooklyn College in the City University of New York. Anderson spoke with Kristian Knutsen in the studio about the state of radio at the midpoint of the 2010s.
