The First Day of School

Tuesday, 3 September 2013 | A Public Affair

Today, Tuesday September 3, was the first day back to school in Madison. Host Carousel Bayrd and her guests Jennifer Cheatham, Madison Superintendent, and Marjorie Passman, school board member, celebrated this day with a discussion of the education system in the Madison area.

Closing the achievement gap and fostering the core curriculum in each and every Madison school were just a few of the topics that Bayrd and Cheatham covered during the show. Bayrd and Passman specifically analyzed how the idea of a core curriculum is being introduced to students. Passman and Cheatham also told us how Madison plans to integrate curriculum into our education system and how we need to find a balance in order for all students to benefit.
