We’re all most done with of our Fall Pledge Drive on WORT! The pledge drive will run until 10-26 so it isn’t too late to pledge! We are listener-sponsored community radio station and we depend on your donations for about 66% of our overall budget. Without you, WORT would not be able to produce so many of your favorite shows. SO TURN ON, TUNE IN, AND DROP DOUGH! If you donate $50 or more during the A Public Affair hour (12pm-1pm) you can receive a free copy of the book discussed on air – and we have some great books coming up the next couple days. You can call us at (608) 256-2001 or toll free at (866) 899-WORT (9678), or pledge securely online here. Thank you so for listening and all of your support!

On Thursday October 24th, our host Allen Ruff was joined by the co-editors of the book “The Syria Dilemma”, Nader Hashemi and Danny Postel, to discuss what is being done in Syria and what could or should be done in the future. Hashemi and Postel work with the University of Denver’s Center for Middle East Studies.

“What should be done about the apparently intractable Syrian conflict? This book focuses on the ethical and political dilemmas at the heart of the debate about Syria and the possibility of humanitarian intervention in today’s world. The contributors–Syria experts, international relations theorists, human rights activists, and scholars of humanitarian intervention–don’t always agree, but together they represent the best political thinking on the issue.”- The MIT Press
