Today in 1967: 264 are arrested at a military induction center in New York City during a Stop the Draft Week Committee action. Dr. Benjamin Spock and poet Allen Ginsberg are among those arrested for blocking the steps at 39 Whitehall Street where the draft board met.
2,500 had shown up at 5 o’clock in the morning to show their opposition to the draft and the Vietnam War.

Tonight, the Center for Photography at Madison hosts the opening reception of Vista and Views – Tenney and Yahara, a work-in-progress by Kurt Westbrook, on display through December. This exhibit shows tableaus found at Tenney Park and the Yahara River, guided by light and shadows in all seasons.
