Today in 1876: The U.S. government ordered that all Native Americans had to move to reservations by this date or be declared hostile. Most Sioux did not even hear of the ultimatum until after the deadline.

Today is the Workers’ Rights Center 10th Anniversary Celebration! For ten years the WRC has assisted workers, usually non-union and often immigrant, who have suffered workplace mistreatment and worker rights violations. You are invited to celebrate the WRC’s anniversary with Representative Mark Pocan, who will keynote the event and speak on the importance of protecting workers’ rights. Tomorrow night, Absolutely Art is partnering with Domestic Abuse Intervention Services to feature the works of Dane County Area High School students in a show designed to increase awareness of healthy dating.
