Today in 1962: Nobel Prize-winner Linus Pauling pickets the White House with others protesting the resumption of nuclear weapons testing.

He had been invited there by President John Kennedy, to be honored at a dinner along with other Nobelists.

Low cost spayings and neuterings for dogs and cats are available through the Dane County Humane Society and Maddie’s Fund. There are various times and prices and they include an FVRCP vaccine.
