Today in 1957: Eleven activists from the Committee for Nonviolent Action are arrested attempting to enter the atomic testing grounds at Camp Mercury, Nevada – the first of what eventually became many thousands of arrests at the Nevada test site.

The City of Fitchburg is partnering with the Farley Center to host a Small-Scale Agriculture and Community Gardens Workshop on Thursday, August 22nd, at the Fitchburg Library. The workshop will link small-scale agricultural growers in search of land in which to grow their commodities with landowners in the City willing to rent their land to these growers.
