The Havens Center Visiting Speakers Program presents two lectures and an open seminar on democracy and coercion by Harvard Professor Jane Mansbridge. Today at 4pm is “Why We Need Coercion by the State.” Tomorrow at 4pm is “How to Get Legitimate Coercion.” And Thursday at 12:20pm is an Open Seminar for Students, Faculty and the Public. Tonight is “Immunization, Public Health and Trust: A Roundtable on Vaccine Controversies,” with speakers Elena Conis, James Conway, Lewis Leavitt, and Karen Walloch. This roundtable will address the ongoing controversy about the benefits and concerns surrounding vaccines.
