Updates From This Year’s Climate Summit

Wednesday, 20 November 2013 | A Public Affair

With news of the devastating typhoon rocking the Philippines and other severe weather events fresh on our minds, the United Nations began their annual climate change talks in Warsaw, Poland, this week.

The UNFCCC Conference of the Parties 19, or COP19 as it is commonly called, is an annual gathering of world leaders who attempt to negotiate deals to reduce global carbon emissions.

On Wednesday, November 20th, our host Tim Hansel spoke with a series of distinguished guests about these climate change talks and what they mean for people in the United States and around the world.

Joining us were:

Janet Redman, Director of the Climate Policy Program at the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C.,

Dr. Michael K. Dorsey, Visiting Fellow in the Energy and Environment Program at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, who is currently at the COP19 talks in Warsaw, and

Madeleine Para, National Program Director with Citizens Climate Lobby
