In December of last year, 15-year old Ryan Treves announced the creation of the Wisconsin Young Birder’s Club. Their stated mission is to connect young naturalists from 8th to 12th grades with seasoned birders and to conduct ornithological field trips around the state. Since then, the WYBC has participated in the Audubon Society’s annual Christmas bird count, and has scheduled outings of its own starting. Ryan Treves and fellow bird enthusiast Emily Meier, from National Audubon Society, join 8 O’Clock Buzz host Brian Standing to talk about Wisconsin birding and this new organization.
