Musica Antiqua will feature a live interview in the 10:00 o’clock hour with Sigrun and Eric, as they talk about the Baroque Chamber Concert coming up on Saturday, September 24. Chelsie Propst and Laura Thompson will join them in a program of music by Buxtehude, Telemann, Schutz, and Biber at the Zion Lutheran Church at 7:30pm. In the interview we’ll discuss who’s in the group and how they came together, and showcase musical examples from the program.
Elsewhere on Musica Antiqua this Sunday we will
- Celebrate women composers Francesca Caccini (born 9/18/1587) and Hildegard von Bingen (died 9/17/1179)
- Remember the recent tragic earthquake in Italy with the opening sections of Brumel’s monumental “Earthquake Mass”
- Feature other music through the centuries, with selections by Byrd, Binchois, Rore, Kerll and others
Tune in 8-11 a.m. this and every Sunday for the only scheduled program of medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque music you can find on the dial in Madison.
