Madison’s annual Latin Music Fest is a major gathering of Dane County’s Latino Community, held for the last 10 years on the night before Thanksgiving. Several WORT programs will feature music and opportunities to win tickets to the show on Nov. 22 at Liquid Lounge (see below.) This year’s event has special meaning, as it is a benefit for The Puerto Rico Hurricane Relief Fund of South Central Wisconsin. Many Madison residents have family and friends affected by the devastation of Hurricane Maria and this show will raise money to help the island in its recovery.
Tune in to win tickets to the Fest on the following WORT shows: Blues Cruise (6-8 pm, 11/17) Tropical Riddims (noon-2 pm, 11/18) La Junta (4-6 pm, 11/18) and Global Revolutions (9 am-noon, 11/18.) Doors open at 8 pm and you can get dancing early to the hot sounds of DJ Rumba and DJ Chamo. Live performances start at 9 pm and include Grupo Candela, Tony Castañeda Latin Jazz Band, Orquesta Salsoul del Madison, and Con Cache from Milwaukee. There will also be a special dance performance by Salsabrosa Dance Company of Milwaukee.
The Latin Music Fest on Nov. 22 is an 18 and over event at Liquid Lounge, 624 University Ave. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 day of show.
Come out and get your groove on to some fantastic music for a very good cause!
