Are you a caregiver for someone showing signs of dementia? A free workshop for caregivers will be offered on Saturday, October 6th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sequoya Library, 4340 Tokay Boulevard. Conversations with family members about changing behaviors can often be challenging and uncomfortable. This program will offer tips for breaking the ice with your family to address common issues. Need help with basic computer or internet skills? Looking for assistance downloading library e-books and audiobooks? Free one-on-one computer assistance sessions will be offered on Saturday, October 6th, from 9 to 11 a.m at the Lakeview Library, 2845 North Sherman Avenue. Phone 246-4547 to make an appointment.
Enjoy a free bird and nature walk with Wisconsin DNR bird expert Eva Lewandowski from 2:30 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, October 6th, starting at the Tenney Park Beach, 1330 Sherman Avenue. You’ll be looking for all manner of birds and recording what you see by using eBird, a Citizen Science application that works on a smartphone. The Citizen Science program contributes data that helps scientists better understand the wonderful world of birds. For information, phone 266-4711.

Events must be low cost or non-profit and of interest to people in the WORT listening area and which other media might not highlight.
