What better way to spend a warm, spring day than laying out a blanket (or camp chair!) in a nice grassy park, enjoying local food and brews while listening to the sweet, summery sounds of Midwest Americana?
The four-time Madison Area Music Award (MAMA)-winning band The Whiskey Farm has been bringing their blend of folk-rock and bluegrass to Madtown audiences since 2010, and are also finalists for a 2023 Wisconsin Area Music Industry award (WAMI) in the category of Best Folk Band. Winners will be announced May 21, and WORT is also up for a WAMI for Southwest Radio Station of the Year.
The Americana Gazette commented that The Whiskey Farm’s rich blend of harmonies over “toe-tapping instrumentals will make you want to get up and dance!” Their 2017 protest album, Songs of Resistance, led to ongoing partnerships with charitable organizations including the ACLU of Wisconsin and Refugees International. The Farm’s latest album Over these Green Hills won a MAMA for Best Folk/Americana song with its lead track, “Sunflowers.” You can catch up on their discography with our festival Spotify playlist. https://open.spotify.com/playlist/3pWFF4CqOpb7Zz00RU2tjg…
The Whiskey Farm will send sparks flying from the WORTstock stage at 1:20 pm, May 21st at Warner Park. Can’t wait to see you there!
