CIA agent turned whistle blower of government-sponsored torture and author of the book The Reluctant Spy, John Kiriakou, talks to Jan Miyasaki about his efforts to free Jeffrey Sterling, fellow CIA agent, from imprisonment following his efforts to bring certain illegal government activities to the attention of the American people. He has brought forward over 150,000 signatures asking for Sterling’s release. Kiriakou says there is a double standard in Washington, where, if you are a friend of the President or a 4-star general, you are free to speak — if not, you are prosecuted.
