For today’s episode, guest host Bert Zipperer is joined in the studio by Geraldine Paredes Vásquez and Bill Baldon of YWCA Madison to discuss issues of racial equity and the collaborative work of fostering justice in our communities.
Geraldine (Gery) Paredes Vásquez is the Race and Gender Equity Director at YWCA Madison. Between 2013 and 2016, she co-authored the Creating Equitable Organizations program with former director Colleen Butler. Originally from Bolivia, she has worked with both youth and adult populations in many countries worldwide.
Bill Baldon is a manager for the YWCA Restorative Justice Program. His work includes coordinating programs to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline in schools and in the Madison Municipal Court and addressing homelessness with restorative justice practices.
