On Thursday, 9-12 am we revisited 2018’s “Thanksgiving Anarchy Special,“ now available to stream on-demand. It’s become an annual tradition for Diaspora to be hosted that day by Bob Kaspar, aka The Folk Anarchist aka The Tall Guy (former WORT 80s-90s host of Tuesday morning folk show Forever Wild and a popular holiday substitute.)
Several courses of diverse tongue-in-cheek music are served holiday style (according to Bob, at least) with a full table of food-oriented comedic performances to take us through a typical day of indulgence, including the traditional house meal of the Alice’s Restaurant Massacree* – a Thanksgiving classic made famous by Arlo Guthrie.
The epic (18+ minute) musical folk tale starts right at 11 am, and by popular demand Claudia Schmidt‘s Pie is heard later on during the dessert portion of the show.
It’s irreverent, it’s hearty, it’s entertainingly satisfying and it’s the laugh we all really need right now. Enjoy!
*With a very special appearance this year by the real, original “Alice” herself! NO KIDDING!!! Check out the archives to find out!
