Today guest host Norm Stockwell talks with Nicolas Lampert, to discuss his new book “A People’s Art History of the United States.” The book spans the conquest of the Americas, the American Revolution, slavery and abolition, feminism, the civil rights movements, anti-nuclear movements, and much more, looking at the role activist art played in social reform movements in American history.
Nicolas Lampert is a senior lecturer and faculty member in the Department of Art and Design at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. His work can be found at the Museum of Modern Art and the Milwaukee Art Museum.
