(WORT)–A group of environmental activists is nearing the half-way point of a month-long trek across Wisconsin. The “Enbridge Walk” follows the path of Enbridge pipeline 61, which transports tarsands oil across the state from northern Canada. While walking from Walworth to Superior, the activists hope to engage Wisconsin residents about the devastating effects of fossil fuel dependency, and to serve as a mobile archive of success stories from communities that are developing sustainable energy alternatives.
