Amy Kiesling from Step Up: Equity Matters join us in studio to talk race and equity in Madison and Dane County.
Step Up: Equity Matters is a community of people who are taking action to address equity and inclusivity in the workplace.
We offer workshops that focus on equity in the workplace with the promise of diving deep and being real. The goal is to increase diversity in our workplace, the board room, the executive and leadership teams and find solutions to create an inclusive, welcoming and thriving work environment for all. It isn’t just teaching people about cultural competency and inclusivity, it is about creating a company culture that embraces diversity in all aspects of its operations.
The Step Up community is a movement for change and when you join the community you will get invitations to the various workshops offered along with a book club invitation and updates from other members that showcase success stories, learning moments and resources. We ask you to sign and commit to the Step Up Pledge with enthusiasm and to share with others along the way.
It is a powerful pledge to Step Up for Equity in the workplace; to be bold and brave.

This workshop addresses the power of company culture in relation to attracting and retaining diverse customers, partners, suppliers and staff. We will look inside and identify existing company culture and its role in supporting diversity and inclusion efforts. Participants will learn how attitudes, inner biases, and personal backgrounds work together to shape a company’s culture. In understanding what an organization’s culture is, we can learn steps to create an environment where a diverse workforce can cohesively move the company forward.
