Today is National Indigenous People’s Day, a day to remember and celebrate the people who lived on this land before European colonization.
If you were walking by the Capitol Square today, you may have seen a teepee erected on the Capitol lawn by Art and Dawn Shegonee.
Earlier today, Art and Dawn held a short ceremony to celebrate indigenous culture here in Wisconsin.
Art and Dawn Shegonee are the founders of the Call For Peace Drum and Dance Company.
