In April, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) began a program aimed at helping Americans cover the cost of funerals and memorial services during the pandemic. The initiative reimbursed funeral costs for those who had lost a loved one to COVID-19.
But, as some Wisconsinites have experienced, the program is fraught with red tape and long waits — and actually getting reimbursed isn’t an easy process.
