Attacks on the Education and Information from the Right

In a piece for Truthout titled US Fascism Is Spreading Under the Guise of “Patriotic Education” Henry Giroux writes, “It is the attempt on the part of the GOP to control historical knowledge and extinguish democratic freedoms in the service of rampant white nationalism and white supremacy that fuels the attack on public and higher education and its dirty war against racialized populations.”

Giroux returns to A Public Affair to discuss that piece and talk about recent attacks on education from the far right.

Henry Giroux is an internationally renowned writer, cultural critic, and professor. He is the Chair for Scholarship in the Public Interest in the English and Cultural Studies Department and is the Paulo Freire Distinguished Scholar in Critical Pedagogy at McMaster University. He is a regular contributor to a number of online journals including Truthout, Truthdig, and CounterPunch.
