On Wednesday May 22nd, host Karma Chavez interviewed Hakim Bellamy, who is the Poet Laureate of Albuquerque, NM, about his new book, Swear. They discussed issues of race, capitalism, and arts in the U.S.
On Tuesday, May 21st, guest host Nigel O’Shea interviewed a panel of local stand-up comedians to talk about roots of comedy in the Madison area, their personal stories, and upcoming stand-up events. For the first half of the hour he spoke with Alan Talaga, Chris Lay and Sarah Conner. During the second half of the show they were joined by David Fisher and Aaron Haag.
On the second half of the Monday, May 20th show, John Quinlan was joined by Jacque Pokorney and Patrick Barrett. They previewed the “Fighting Forward: A Labor and Working Class Summit” which will be held in Madison June 12th-15th.
