Over 14 WORT show hosts sat down to pick their recommendations for the best of 2014, and we’ve gathered them together in one place. You’re sure to find something new, interesting, disturbing and/or fantastic.
Please join us Thursday for the inaugural Central Park Session, a night of live African music that we’ll be broadcasting and streaming from 5-10 pm. WORT benefits from the proceeds of refreshments and raffle tickets sold at the concert series, so come down to the show and/or listen to the live remote this Thursday!
New York, L.A., Nashville, Austin, etc.: these are all cities that get written and sung about. The places whose streets, or bars, or saloons and studios harbor, hold, and heave with musicians. They’re cities we think of as being some of the music capitals of the world. While all of these things are true, it barely scratches the surface of the American music scene.
Here’s a look at what we’ve been spinning on WORT recently. You can find playlists for individual shows by clicking on them in our Air Schedule: http://www.wortfm.org/?page_id=529 and you can listen to music programs for up to two weeks after they air on our archives: http://www.wortfm.org/?page_id=1811
