Calling all cyclists! On today’s special pledge drive edition, Patty “takes the lane” with Adonia Lugo, author of Bicycle/Race: Transportation, Culture, and Resistance. Over the course of the hour, they have a freewheeling conversation about all things bikes and transportation including urban exploration, mobility justice, how we communicate and interact when we’re traveling, and the changing cultural values around transportation.
Adonia Lugo is an urban anthropologist and mobility justice strategist based in Los Angeles. She is the author of Bicycle/Race: Transportation, Culture, and Resistance (Microcosm, 2018).
A technology note: Our apologies, but we experienced audio connection issues during the first ten minutes of this interview, which resulted in some “buzzy”-sounding audio. The issue was resolved, so the remainder of the interview has clear audio.
