Our topic today is Black Women at the Forefront of the Civil Rights Movement. Lilada takes a look at her top ten heroines of the Civil Rights movements in honor of the first day of Black History Month.
Joining her in the studio today is long-time Madison resident and activist, Brandi Grayson. Brandi is the co-founder of Young, Gifted and Black, but she is not new to community activism. She began her activism down the street at the UW–Madison via the Black Student Unions and student government. She co-founded Young, Gifted and Black as a way to express her continued activism
